Sandra Gomez was born when I joined local Philippine showbiz in 1997, under OctoArts Films where the big boss, Mr. Orly Ilacad, prescribed the name because January Isaac was, well, too foreign sounding. In fact, earlier on, when I was a member of a girl band backing up a local male singer, my name was also changed to a slightly less foreign sounding name of Jan Jacinto.
